After 9 years, Sea Kiwi goes for a refit with her new owner (old owner, he owned her before!)
"Boat Boss on the Move" aptly encompasses the latest developments in the expansion of BASCO Boating.
With the easing of the international travel restrictions as well as the increased demand for boating globally, BASCO is expanding into Thailand and Australia (and Vietnam and Indonesia).
And "Boat Boss on the Move" fits right in with our ethos and stage in life with three main developments:
- Co-founders William & Dione Schick's desire to embody what BASCO is about and that is buying and selling boats remotely, online while working from anywhere (aka working online, from your boat anywhere around the globe - see our new training "Digital Boat Broker Launch Accelerator" available very soon)
- BASCO's new Digital division officially launched, providing services to Boat Operator clients. BASCO Digital is our B2B division, providing revenue improvement consulting for our boating industry Operator clients, boat financing, digital boat broker training, virtual boat buyer summits and increased leads & revenue from digital platforms.
- Finally "flipping" our first boat after 9-years! I think you're supposed to flip faster than this in order to make a profit.... but hey ho!!! Yes, Sea Kiwi was our first boat, we were first-time boat buyers (see the blog here "Why I Bought a Boat When I Couldn't Afford It").
Most boat flipping courses (like our course coming soon "How to make a good living flipping boats for a living, without getting attached to the boat" - our epic failure here was getting so attached to our gorgeous, awesome first boat, Sea Kiwi for over 9-years).
The super cool thing was the guy that brought Sea Kiwi to Asia (Singapore) from the USA around 12 years ago... Mr. Wong... loved the boat so much (just like we did) that he bought her back again! Yes, Mr. Wong is super talented in renovations and boat logistics so it was a perfect opportunity to hand her back to Mr. Wong so he could attend to the boat yard upgrades, up-slip and renovation. We can't wait to see how she looks after all of this. His comment is "slowly over 6-months we'll do the woodwork and renovation" she'll be amazing once done, and we have to be careful not to be tempted to buy her back again!

So what now for Boat Boss on the Move?
Yes, we have another boat in the meantime. We took over a 59' Sailboat which was just 5 slips away from Sea Kiwi and she is now in place. But this boat is for sale and will be sold in October.
Keep an eye out for the Online Boat Auction that will be available soon for this cool, classic, 59' Sailboat that we have taken custody of in the meantime.
But, here is to happy travels and business expansion as we help more boaters buy and sell. Looking forward to travelling to Thailand, Perth, Sydney and beyond over the next few months.
