In November 2026, Hong Kong will welcome sailors from around the globe for the Dragon World Championship. Scheduled from 21 to 29 November, this will be the first time the event is staged in Asia, marking a new chapter for the class.


The International Dragon made its debut in 1929. It carries a crew of three and is known for its balance of elegance and competitive performance.

What to Expect in 2026?


Crews will compete for the Royal Hellenic Cup, a trophy with a history dating back to 1965. Organizers expect over 60 teams from more than 12 nations. Racing will unfold in the waters off the Ninepin Islands, an area known for steady breezes during the North-East monsoon season.


Venues and Facilities


Boats will dock at the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club marina, which can host up to 300 yachts. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Kellett Island base will serve as the center for registration, measurement checks, and after-race functions.
