Grand Banks Yachts has taken a significant step forward in its growth and innovation journey with the unveiling of its state-of-the-art composite manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The expansion solidifies the company's reputation as one of Asia’s leading luxury boatbuilders, known for its precision craftsmanship and advanced technologies.

Located in Pasir Gudang, within the recently inaugurated Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the new facility increases Grand Banks’ manufacturing yard by 143,300ft² (13,313m²), marking a 25% expansion to a total of nearly 700,000ft² (65,032m²). This expansion not only increases production capacity but also allows the company to consolidate more of its manufacturing processes under one roof, streamlining efficiency and quality control.

During the official opening, Grand Banks CEO Mark Richards, alongside company directors, led a tour of the modernized facility. Customers, business partners, and shareholders witnessed firsthand the advanced equipment and technology that will define the next generation of Grand Banks, Palm Beach, and Eastbay yachts.

The new facility boasts advanced technological capabilities, including an on-site eight-axis rotor robotics system, a dedicated testing pool, and high-tech engineering labs. These features enable Grand Banks to construct larger yachts with unparalleled precision, craftsmanship, and efficiency. The integration of optimized resin infusion techniques and precise material blends further enhances the company’s proprietary V-Warp Technology, ensuring stronger, lighter, and more fuel-efficient hulls.

Sustainability is also a key focus of this expansion. Solar panels installed on the facility’s rooftop contribute to powering operations, reflecting Grand Banks' commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while maintaining high manufacturing standards.

Strengthening Market Presence

The timing of this expansion aligns well with Grand Banks’ growing global presence, particularly in North America. With an expanding customer base and increased marketing efforts, the company’s order book remains strong, standing at S$109.8 million as of December 31, 2024.

Grand Banks chairman Basil Chan emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, “This investment enhances our production quality, operational efficiencies, and economies of scale. By integrating advanced technologies and refining our processes, we are building a stronger foundation to serve our customers better and create lasting value for our shareholders.”

With this significant expansion, Grand Banks Yachts is well-positioned to continue delivering luxury yachts that embody innovation, craftsmanship, and performance, reinforcing its legacy in the global boating industry.
