Benetti has partnered with the Quinn University Consortium to launch its first AI-driven production initiative. The project will begin at the Livorno shipyard by the end of the year and focuses on improving how work flows across the Custom Operations division.
The first phase targets four core areas:
Logistics
Planning
Production Engineering
Safety
These functions sit at the heart of yacht construction. Optimising them means faster processes, fewer errors, and more reliable outcomes.
From Manual Processes to Data-Driven Decisions
One of the biggest advantages of AI is its ability to handle complex data in real time. At Benetti, AI will support smarter planning, automate repetitive activities, and reduce the risk of human error in manual tasks.
This shift allows teams to spend less time on routine processing and more time on high-value work that requires expertise and craftsmanship. The result is better decision-making, smoother operations, and higher overall quality.

This new initiative builds on an earlier collaboration between Benetti and the Quinn Consortium. From 2022 to 2024, both teams worked on synchronising logistics through better supply chain integration.
That project created a strong data foundation. It also revealed clear opportunities where
AI could make a meaningful impact. The insights gathered during that phase are now being turned into practical solutions inside the shipyard.
Practical AI Tools with Real Impact
Several AI-based systems are already planned for implementation. One example is the
automation of material booking and incoming delivery controls. This system aligns material arrivals with yacht production schedules and available warehouse space, reducing delays and inefficiencies.
Another key development is a Three-Year Plan Simulator. This tool can process complex scenarios, test different production strategies, and support continuous improvement across key performance indicators.
These are not experimental ideas. They are practical tools designed to improve daily operations.
