British yacht manufacturer Sunseeker International has announced plans to restructure parts of its organization, potentially impacting up to 10% of its workforce. The decision comes in light of shifting global demand and continued economic headwinds, prompting a strategic review of the company’s operations.
In a statement released earlier today, the company outlined intentions to realign its support, leadership, and management teams to improve overall efficiency and better position itself for future growth.
Although around 200 jobs could be cut, Sunseeker says the main goal is to keep the business strong for the future and stay competitive worldwide.
Chief Executive Andrea Frabetti acknowledged the seriousness of the decision, expressing empathy for those who may be affected. He reaffirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to its manufacturing bases in Poole and Portland, emphasizing their importance to Sunseeker’s operational future.
“This restructure is about ensuring we are best equipped to meet future challenges and opportunities,” said Frabetti. “We will approach the consultation process with transparency and support for our employees.”

Looking forward, Sunseeker confirmed that it remains focused on fulfilling its global order book and continuing with the development of new yacht models, including an upcoming superyacht range announced earlier this year.
In accordance with UK employment law, a formal consultation process will now commence, lasting a minimum of 45 days, during which the company will explore all options and seek input from affected teams.
The outcome of the consultation process will determine the final shape of the restructure. In the meantime, Sunseeker continues to operate as usual, prioritising its global customers, ongoing projects, and future product development.
