A new generation of boat owners who prefer vintage wooden boats.
An influx of first-time buyers entered the classic-boat market as younger, more affluent buyers preferred quality and wanted the high-end stuff.
The vintage wooden boat market was steady and shifted drastically around 2009. The interest in vintage wooden boats exploded during the pandemic when people began working from home. The Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS), a membership organization dedicated to connecting people who enjoy classic boats, had 500 new members last year.
At BASCO we have experienced the trend of younger, hip boat owner and buyers who appreciate the quality and timeless charm of these classic boats. An example is Kings Point , a beautiful, restored vessel that had been on the market for quite a while, and finally snapped up by a trendy younger, more affluent buyer and their friends!
