The sporty new model is being built at their UAE production yard. Sunreef Yachts is getting ready to launch its latest power catamaran, “the Ultima 55”at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September. This will be the first time the boat is shown in Europe. Right now, it’s being built at Sunreef’s new shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Ultima 55 combines the speed of a monohull with the stability of a catamaran. Also, she has a modern and sporty design. The Ultima 55 is part of Sunreef’s growing Ultima line and will be shown at Vieux Port along with other models like the 80 Sunreef Power Eco and the 100 Sunreef Power. Sunreef’s CEO, Francis Lapp, recently spoke at their original shipyard in Gdańsk, Poland. He said the company is doing very well around the world, even though the US market has slowed down a bit. “This year has been amazing for us,” he said. “Our UAE shipyard is fully booked until 2027, and we already have 60 orders for the Ultima range.” The Ultima 55 is already in production. And there’s more coming. A new 66-foot model will be launched next year. Both boats have a new hull shape that makes them look sportier and more stylish. Sunreef’s PR Director, Artur Poloczanski, is also excited. “We can’t wait to show the Ultima 55 in Cannes,” he said. “It’s a fresh design that focuses on fun, luxury, and speed.” The Ultima 55 has lots of space for relaxing. It includes a semi-open lounge area, a large back deck, and fold-down platforms on both sides, perfect for sunbathing or spending time on the water. The boat runs on twin Volvo IPS 800 hp engines, and has fixed foils between the hulls to help it move smoothly. Sunreef’s appearance at the Cannes show shows its strong position in the luxury catamaran world. And the Ultima 55 is ready to shine. News credit: Information sourced from IBI News. - Mazu Yachts Founder Halit Yukay Missing at Sea
Halit Yukay, founder of Mazu Yachts, is missing after his yacht was found wrecked near Marmara Island. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as the yachting community holds its breath. - Basco Boating News - Written by Aziza | BASCO Team < Back Share Mazu Yachts Founder Halit Yukay Missing at Sea Aziza | BASCO Team Aug 7, 2025 Halit Yukay, founder of Mazu Yachts, is missing after his yacht was found wrecked near Marmara Island. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as the yachting community holds its breath. The Turkish yachting industry is in shock as the search continues for Halit Yukay, founder and CEO of Mazu Yachts, who has gone missing at sea. His 12.2-meter yacht, Graywolf , was found wrecked and partially submerged off Marmara Island, but no sign of Yukay has been discovered on board. Yukay departed alone from Yalova Setur Marina on August 4, heading toward Greece. He was last seen on security footage leaving the dock around 15:10. When his family could not reach him later that evening, they contacted the Turkish Coast Guard. On August 5 at around 14:30, the crew of a passing commercial ship reported sighting a damaged vessel near the Kapıdağ Peninsula. Authorities confirmed it was Graywolf , but Yukay was not aboard. Since then, Turkish authorities have launched a full-scale search and rescue operation. The mission includes a helicopter, seven surface vessels, and a dedicated diving team. So far, no additional evidence has surfaced. The cause of the yacht’s severe damage remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway by the Marmara Public Prosecutor’s Office. The boating community, both in Turkey and internationally, is anxiously awaiting updates. Mazu Yachts is known for its handcrafted, high-performance vessels. Since its founding in 2011, the company has carved out a strong reputation for sleek, custom-designed yachts ranging from 11 to 40 meters. Halit Yukay was more than just a shipbuilder. He was an innovator, a sailor at heart, and a driving force behind Turkey’s rise in the luxury yacht sector. Starting his journey as a teenage boatbuilder, he went on to lead one of the country’s most admired marine brands. His absence is being felt deeply across the industry. Mazu’s design philosophy blends strength with elegance. Under Yukay’s leadership, the company pushed boundaries and attracted a loyal international clientele. His disappearance has sent ripples through the yachting world, as clients, colleagues, and friends rally in hope and support. As of now, the search continues. The boating community remains united, praying for a breakthrough Media Gallery ← Previous Next →

The goal is to create a work environment that supports both the company’s operational needs and its evolving approach to teamwork and communication. So, what’s new at Azimut’s Avigliana HQ? New multifunctional pavilion designed to reflect the brand’s modern identity Redesigned office layouts with glass walls, open spaces, and shared areas A cutting-edge Virtual Reality room to let clients and teams explore yacht models interactively Major energy efficiency upgrades across the site A design that respects the original 1990s architecture by Gabetti & Isola, while pushing forward with a clean, minimalist look An overall shift from rigid hierarchy to a more collaborative and transparent work culture The redesign was led by two respected architecture firms, AMDL CIRCLE , guided by Michele De Lucchi, and Settanta7 . Gulf Craft is stepping into the future of finance by offering a new way for clients to pay using cryptocurrency. The UAE-based yacht builder has partnered with Bahrain-licensed fintech company ARP Pay to roll out a regulated stable coin payment solution. That means buyers can now use digital currencies like USDT and USDC to purchase yachts, request services, or even pay for refits. But don’t worry, this isn’t just about riding the crypto wave. There’s a practical edge too. Payments made in stablecoins are converted into AED or USD, helping reduce costs and making things easier for Gulf Craft’s growing international customer base. “Our goal has always been to adapt and lead,” says Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, Gulf Craft’s chairman. “The UAE was built on innovation, especially in maritime trade. So accepting regulated digital payments is a natural next step.” This isn’t just an idea on paper. The company has already tested the system in a real-world transaction, with a portion of a yacht’s price paid through cryptocurrency. The trial helped them gauge how crypto fits into the buying process and fine-tune the experience for future clients. Group CEO Erwin Bamps explains the motivation behind the move: “Adding a crypto option future-proofs our customer experience. We want to be where the world is heading, not where it used to be.” Whether someone’s buying a Majesty yacht, a Nomad, or even an Oryx or SilverCAT model, they now have a fast, transparent, and compliant payment method at their fingertips. This initiative also reflects the UAE’s broader push to become a hub for digital assets and fintech. Gulf Craft’s move aligns with national strategies supporting regulated digital finance, including VARA and the growth of crypto-friendly free zones. In short? Yacht shopping just got a tech upgrade.
